O presidente da Funai Cel.Nobre da Veiga anunciou que no último ano a Funai demarcou um total de um milhão e 43 mil hectares de terras indígenas. Afirmou também que já foram concluídas a demarcação de áreas dos índios Macuxi, Xavante, Kiriri e Tupiniquim, enquanto os Gaviões e Kiriri esperam suas demarcações até fins de fevereiro.
