A Funai e a Petrobrás firmaram convênio em março com a finalidade de regulamentar a exploração de petróleo em áreas indígenas. Nos termos do acordo, os indígenas em cujas terras forem localizadas jazidas de petróleo serão indenizados pela Petrobrás, sempre que seu patrimônio sofrer qualquer tipo de dano.
