A 4ª Superintendência Executiva Regional (SUER) da Funai dará início, na primeira quinzena deste mês, aos trabalhos de delimitação da Área Indígena Apiterewa, à margem direita do rio Xingu, no município de Altamira. A área foi interditada no ano passado, por uma portaria da presidência da Funai, e abrange 266 mil e 800 hectares, habitados por cerca de 150 índios Parakanã, tendo como limites naturais o igarapé Bom Jardim, a serra Bacajá e o rio Bacajá.
