Índios Truká anunciam guerra à polícia mesmo sem o porte de armas de fogo. Este conflito se iniciou com a invasão e destruição, auxiliada por policiais, das plantações dos Truká, fato que gerou muita revolta entre os índios. Os Truká também reivindicam a demarcação da ilha de Assunção, em Cabrobó (PE). Os conflitos por terra já acontecem há muito tempo naquela região. No passado, algumas disputas se deram entre índios, Igreja e fazendeiros.
