Segundo portaria recém-assinada pelo presidente em exercício do Instituto Brasileiro de Desenvolvimento Florestal (IBDF), até 1995 os consumidores de matérias-primas vegetais terão que ser abastecidos por florestas próprias sob pena de multa. A medida, espera-se, dará condições ao órgão de estancar a destruição das florestas nativas, que, só no ano passado, perderam quatro milhões de hectares.
