Os índios Krenak decidiram não abandonar os quatro alqueires de terras que ocuparam em 1980 às margens do Rio Doce, segundo informou o delegado regional da Funai em Minas, Carlos Roberto Grossi, depois de acompanhar os oficiais da Justiça em Resplendor, que intimaram os indígenas a sair da área. Os Krenak preferem resistir a voltar para a Fazenda Guarani.
